100,000 sq. ft. Duggal Greenhouse Opens at Brooklyn Navy Yard!

The long-awaited Duggal Greenhouse finally opened its doors last month after being transformed from a massive asbestos-laden Brooklyn Navy Yard building into a new eco-space. The $10 million, 100,000-square-foot project was spearheaded by green entrepreneur Baldev Duggal and designed by Studios GO architect Gregory Okshteyn. Boasting energy-saving "Lumi Solair" solar lamp posts and rooftop solar panels, the state-of-the-art venue opens up to a riverside terrace with Manhattan views and has already hosted a launch party for Heineken and been a rehearsal space for Beyonce.

The LEED-certified Duggal Greenhouse serves as the hub of Duggal Energy Solutions—a green corporation dedicated to resolving global electricity, water, and agriculture problems. Mr. Duggal began investing in the Brooklyn Navy Yard over a decade ago with a single 10,000-square-foot space. Now, he boasts space across seven buildings and has his sights set on purchasing property next to the greenhouse where he plans to build a café, eco-lounge and rooftop farm.
